Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Pepperstone AI collects, why we collect it, how it is protected, who it can be shared with, and the rights you have over it. We wrote it in plain English because a policy you cannot understand protects no one.
Definitions
"We", "us" and "Pepperstone AI" mean the Pepperstone AI technology platform operated for Australian clients. "Personal information" is information about an identified or reasonably identifiable person. "Processing" covers collecting, holding, using and disclosing that information. "Client" is a registered user of the platform, whether or not the account has been funded.
Personal information we collect
Registration collects your first name, last name, email address and phone number. Verification, where you complete it, adds your date of birth, residential address, identity document details and a selfie or liveness capture. Account use adds deposit and withdrawal records, trading activity, and correspondence with our team. Support enquiries collect the content of your messages.
Usage data
Like most websites we receive technical data: IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring page, and the pages and features you use, with timestamps. This arrives in server logs and helps us keep the service secure, diagnose faults and understand which features clients actually use.
Cookies
We use a small number of first-party cookies and similar technologies: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, a security cookie that supports protection against automated abuse, and preference storage. Analytics may be enabled by the site operator through a dedicated slot; if so, it measures aggregate use, never your identity. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site will still work, you may just need to sign in again.
Operator and processors
Pepperstone AI is the operator responsible for the personal information described here. Some processing is performed by service providers acting on our instructions: identity-verification providers, IT infrastructure and hosting providers, email delivery services, and analytics tooling where enabled. Each is bound by contract to process data only for us and to protect it.
Why we process your information
The purposes are: creating and servicing your account; identity verification and AML obligations; communicating about your account, including security notices; responding to enquiries and complaints; improving the platform; keeping records required by Australian law; and, only with your consent, sending marketing information about platform features.
Bases for processing
We process personal information because it is necessary to perform the service you registered for (contract), because the law requires it, such as identity verification and record-keeping obligations (legal obligation), because it is reasonably expected of a service provider to keep its platform secure and functioning (legitimate interest), or because you agreed, in the case of marketing (consent). You may withdraw marketing consent at any time.
How long we keep information
Account and verification records are kept while the account is open and for seven years after closure, consistent with record-keeping obligations. Support correspondence is kept for two years after the last message. Usage logs are kept for twelve months. Marketing consent records are kept until withdrawal plus a short grace period. After each period the data is deleted or irreversibly de-identified.
Disclosure and transfers
We do not sell personal information. We disclose it only to: service providers listed above; third parties involved in servicing your account, such as payment providers and execution venues, to the extent they need it; and regulators, law-enforcement bodies or courts where the law compels us. Where a provider processes data outside Australia, we require contractual protections for the transfer.
Security
Personal information is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to staff who need it to support accounts, and systems are monitored for unauthorised access. Accounts themselves carry the protections described on the security page, including two-factor authentication and login alerts. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, affected clients will be notified directly, as Australian law requires.
Your rights
You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, request deletion where no legal obligation requires retention, restrict or object to certain processing, and withdraw marketing consent at any time. Requests go to [email protected] and are answered within a reasonable period, normally within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting, to protect your own data.
Analytics and advertising
Where the site operator enables an analytics service, it reports aggregate usage statistics. We do not use your personal information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it to advertisers. If retargeting tools are ever added, they will run only with the consent mechanisms available in your browser.
Third-party links
The site links to third-party services such as exchanges and payment providers. Their privacy practices are their own; we encourage you to read their policies before providing them information. Following a link does not give those parties access to your Pepperstone AI account or data.
Children
The platform is not directed at people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us at [email protected] and we will remove the account and its data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or Australian requirements change. The version in force is always the one published on this page, and material changes are announced to registered clients before they take effect. Continuing to use the platform after a change accepts the updated policy.
